The Human Connection

“Many long for someone to talk to,
Someone to be vulnerable with,
Someone to share strength with,
Someone to be accepted by
Someone to offer understanding to,
Someone to seek help from,
Someone to help.”

The Guardians of

SGL-Secrets.com

The SGL group at Søndre Jong, just outside Oslo, serves as the core and custodians of SGL-Secrets.com. Comprising around 15 retired or active senior leaders from both public and private sectors, this group is dedicated to sharing SGL’s leadership insights with a global knowledge base.

The spirit from Jan Petrus Hagberg’s 1980 book ( In the same Boat) on group growth and team development capture the essence of human connection. His work, widely embraced across various fields, was written for people of all ages and backgrounds—anyone open to personal growth and new ways of working together.
At SGL, these insights have been carried forward and refined through structured group sessions held monthly over a year. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, these groups have evolved into online gatherings or hybrid models, combining virtual meetings with an annual 4–5 day retreat. These retreats have taken place in Norway’s mountain lodges, as well as cultural and leadership seminars in Rome, Milan, Tuscany, and Piemonte. Other programs have explored the cultural diversity of Al-Andalus in Spain or the enchanting surroundings of Sintra, Portugal.

Mountain Seminars: Ethics & Leadership

Etihics & Leadership: These immersive four-day retreats in Norway’s wilderness push a small group of participants to their limits. Living in a remote cabin with minimal amenities, they must cook their own meals and navigate group dynamics with nature as their guide and the seminar leader as their facilitator. Participants are bound by confidentiality regarding the methodology—but they are free to share their personal takeaways, whether positive or critical, with whomever they choose, whenever they choose.

HISTORIC OFFICE VILLAS

SGL with its parent company Kreativitetshuset as, started up in the prestigious villa at Kirkeveien 7, just opposite Vigelangsparken in Oslo. – After nearly 10 years here SGL moved to the red old house, called “Gartnerboligen” at Campus Veritas in Høvik
The last stop on the long journey become the national romantic Villa Furuvik, at Lysaker, outside Oslo.
Historic SGL has always had a fondness to rent charming, historic office villas. Over the past three decades, these elegant spaces have served as the backdrop for our leadership seminars, coaching sessions, and various projects. Many have noted how the architectural surroundings reflect and reinforce SGL’s core values—and vice versa. But the simple truth is, we and these villas have thrived together. Here’s a glimpse into that journey.

SGL professional seminars cover a wide range of knowledge-based businesses.

Power Struggles: A Reality Experience

Leadership and power dynamics take center stage at our Cultural & Leadership Seminars. One particularly intense experience unfolds at a monestery in Rome, where the seating arrangement itself sets the stage for unexpected developments. What happened next?
