SECRET: 2 / LESSON 2,2 : Change or Resistance!

LESSON 2,2 Flow and Secrets

Everyone has felt it.
That discomfort, the doubt, the uncertainty in a situation demanding an answer—one you are not yet ready to give Does this sound familiar?
Then I invite you to a small experiment. Let’s start by considering a specific situation. It could be a job offer, new responsibilities, a romance you fear the consequences of, or financial decisions that weigh heavily on your future. With this backdrop in mind, answer the following question:

1. What is the situation right now?

Be honest and specific. Picture yourself in the Flow-zoone. Are you within the flow, or are you above or below it? Tune in to the emotions that arise. Let your body speak. Create a dialogue between your conscious self and your inner voice—sometimes called “The Other.”
Hold on to the answer, the image, the atmosphere that emerges. What you feel (or don’t feel) sends important signals that will help you answer the next question:

2. What do you gain from this situation right now?

The answer may be simple or complex. Try to view it as objectively as possible. If this is about changing jobs, the answer might be as straightforward as valuing the security of your colleagues, friendships, and challenges. If it concerns love and emotions, the answer could be about morality and responsibility in relation to past relationships—or the thrill and possibilities this situation offers.
Again, listen to your inner voice, “The Other,” before moving on to the next question:

3. What are you avoiding by staying in this situation?

Now it gets more challenging. By keeping everything as it is, you naturally avoid change and uncertainty—but also the chance to pursue something you secretly desire. You may have to make a decision. Which brings us to the fourth question:

4. What do you feel right now?

Take your time. Listen to your body. Is your heart beating faster? Is your stomach uneasy? Do you find yourself yawning, bored? Or is this all feeling overwhelming? Your body knows the answer. Now is the time to listen to its voice. Try to recall what “The Othter” is saying before moving on to the next question:

5. What is stopping you from acting on this situation?

Now, return to the flowchart. Look at the position you marked. Consider what is holding you back from change. Approach the situation logically and rationally. What is the worst-case scenario? What are the possibilities?
The answer is yours alone. No one can decide for you. You must find it yourself. So, move on to the next question:

6. What do you expect now?

This is where the future takes shape. You must make a mature decision. You must be honost! –  You must choose! You are now ready to continue to the next question:

7. What do you truly want now?

Your body answers: I know what I have—or—I know what I want. As your coach, I am eager to hear your response. Let’s move on to the final question:

8. What will you do now?

Your answer may be crystal clear, or it may be vague and contradictory. Your inner voice reflects your true needs. Perhaps you are not yet ready to take the leap. If so, I encourage you to repeat this process—up to ten times if necessary. The answer that resonates most consistently is likely the right one.
After all, the body never lies. Your inner voice is your guide and your wisdom.
